Tagore singer Sadi Mohammad passes away at 70

A legendary Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Mohammad passed away on Wednesday evening. He was 70.

Renowned dancer Shamim Ara Neepa confirmed the news of his death.

Family sources said Sadi was practicing music with his Tanpura in a room of his residence. Suddenly, Sadi's younger brother classical dancer Shibli Mohammad noticed that the door had been locked. After breaking the door, he found the singer's lifeless body hanging from ceiling fan.

Sadi Mohammad served as the director of the cultural organisation Rabi Raag.

Sadi Mohammad, who pursued his studies in Rabindra Sangeet at Visva-Bharati University in India, was the son of Liberation War martyr Salimullah and Jebunnesa Salimullah.
