The police showed 26 of the 54 people arrested after the stormed on the secretariat demanding revaluation of the Higher Secondary Certificate examination.
“Of the 54 students, 26 have been arrested and the other 28 have been turned over to the custody of their guardians after we received assurances,” said Obaidur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Police filed the case against them with Shahbagh Police Station, said Jahangir Kabir, DMP additional deputy commissioner (media).
On Wednesday, some 60-70 students stormed the Secretariat around 3:30 pm demanding the cancellation of the recently published HSC results.
Police detained 54 people from the Secretariat and freed 28 of them on bond from the guardians of the students. The arrestees were produced before the court today.
