Former ISKCON leader Chinmoy among 164 sued in another case

Former ISKCON leader and spokesperson for Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatan Jagran Jote Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari and 163 others were sued over attempted to murder and assault during a clash on Chattogram court premises on November 26.

Enamul Haque, a businessperson, filed the case with Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate court on Sunday.

Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakar Siddique took the case into cognisance, said advocate Mohammad Mainuddin, a lawyer of the plaintiff.

On November 26, Enamul, who came to the court for registration purpose of a piece of land, was physically assaulted by the supporters of Chinmoy amid violence following the denial of his bail petition in a sedition case.

Saiful Islam Alif, a lawyer was hacked to death on the court premises during the clash on the same day.

So far, five cases have been filed in connection with the lawyer murder and violence.
