
Former state minister for disaster management and relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman has been remanded for four-day in connection with the death of Riday in the city's Savar area during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order on Tuesday rejecting Dr Enam's bail petition as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-day remand.
Detective Branch (DB) of the police arrested Dr Enamur Rahman from the city's Bhatara area in the early hours of January 27. Earlier, he was taken on remand in connection with several cases.
Riday Ahmed was gunned down while taking part in a programme "Long march to Dhaka" at Savar Thana road in the afternoon on August 5. He was rushed t Enam Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on August 8.
On August 30 last year, Raju Ahmed, father of Riday Ahmed, filed a case with Savar Model Thana accusing 308 people including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
