Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today laid emphasis on dialogue for resolving all problems even among the OIC neighbouring countries.

". . . even if there is problem among OIC neighbouring countries, (they should) resolve those through dialogue," she said as Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan paid a courtesy call on her at her official residence Ganabhaban, reports BSS.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the newsmen after the meeting.

According to Karim, the premier also reiterated her call for unity among the Muslim Ummah on the ongoing Palestine issue.

The press secretary said the Saudi ambassador handed over a letter to the premier, inviting her to participate in "OIC conference on Women in Islam" to be held on November 6-8 in Jeddah.

The envoy also handed over another letter to her, seeking support of Bangladesh in favour of his country's bid to host FIFA World Cup-2034 as the premier expressed positive response.

The ambassador, as well, urged the prime minister to renew Bangladesh's support to his country as it is on the bid to host Expo 2030.

At the meeting, Sheikh Hasina informed the ambassador that Bangladesh is going to organise "Imam Conference", and she invited Imams from the two Holy Mosques for attending that conference.

The prime minister also told Alduhailan that Bangladesh has already introduced currency swap with India and wanted to do so with the other countries.

The Saudi Arabian ambassador then said his country would look after the matter.

Sheikh Hasina even conveyed her regards to the custodian of the two Holy Mosques, and said that people of Bangladesh have special place for Saudi Arabia in their hearts.

Alduhailan lauded Bangladesh's steady progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Prime Minister's Principal Secretary M Tofazzel Hossain Miah was present at the meeting.
