Six more people succumbed to dengue in 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 320 this year.
During the period, 1,297 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 89 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 185 in Chattogram, 338 in Dhaka division, 264 in Dhaka North city while 143 in Dhaka South, 171 in Khulna, 34 in Rajshahi, 33 in Mymensingh, 36 in Rangpu and 4 were admitted to different hospitals in Sylhet division.
A total of 65,768 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.
Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
