
Three people were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Pabna’s Santhia upazila.
The accident took place at Rangamatia area of Nandanpur on the Santhia-Madhpur road at around 4:30am on Friday, said Inspector (Investigation) A Latif of Santhia Police Station.
The deceased are identified as Khokon Islam, 27, son of Altaf of Rangamati village; Dhani Pramanik, 50, son of Nazimuddin of Chondoh village; and Russell Ahmed, 27, son of Said of the same village.
A freight truck going to Santhia ran over workers who were preparing to go to another area to plant onions by a korimon, killing three of them on the spot, police said.
Five others were sent to the Sathia Upazila Health Complex and Pabna General Hospital for treatment.
