Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)’s Joint General Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie on Thursday said there is no scope to forgive Awami League.
“BNP wants to bring Awami League on trial for its misdeeds which ultimately will lead to prohibit the party from politics,” he said.
The BNP leader made the remark while addressing a prize distribution ceremony of Laxmipur Poura Shahid Smriti Academy annual sports competition here this afternoon.
Annie said his party would never create any scope to excuse Sheikh Hasina or keep her out of the purview of the law.
He said BNP’s next goal is to build a beautiful Bangladesh with all who fought for ousting the dictator.
He said President Ziaur Rahman had deep bond with the people of the country. Begum Zia’s uncompromising leadership, compassion for the people and her usual politics also has made the relation more strong with the common masses.
Pointing out recent speeches of BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman, he said, it is clear from his speech that Tarique Rahman will not allow any unethical practice. That is the difference between Awami League and BNP, he said.
Moderated by Laxmipur Poura Shahid Smriti Academy’s head master Awal Hossen Chowdhury, the function was addressed, among others, by district BNP leader Sahab Uddin Sabu, Mohammad Didar Hossen and Lakshmipur BRDB chairman Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan.
President of Lakshmipur Poura Shahid Smriti Academy Rezaul Karim Liton was in the chair.
