The government has appointed new vice-chancellors at Rajshahi University (RU), Chittagong University (RU), Jagannath University (JNU), Bangladesh Open University, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and Dhaka Central University.
Education and primary and mass education minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced the information at a press conference at the Ministry of Education on Monday.
Prof. Md Faridul Islam will serve as the new VC of Rajshahi University, while Prof. Rais Uddin, chairman of the Islamic Studies Department and president of the teachers’ association of Jagannath University, has been nominated as the university’s VC.
In addition, Prof. Siddiqur Rahman Khan has been nominated as the VC of Bangladesh Open University, while Prof. Md Nurul Islam, the current Pro- VC of the National University, has been nominated as the VC of Dhaka Central University.
Besides, Prof. Md Masud has been nominated as the new VC of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), while Prof. Mohammad Al-Forkan has been nominated as CU VC.
