A case was filed against 17 artists, including actresses Suborna Mustafa, Rokeya Prachi, and Apu Biswas, on charges of attempted murder and financing anti-state activities.
Enamul Haque filed the case as a plaintiff in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court (CMM) on Tuesday.
Other accused in the case include Sohana Saba, Nipun Akhtar, Meher Afroz Shawon, Jyotika Jyoti, Syeda Kamrun Nahar Shahnoor, Tarveen Sweety, Zakia Moon, Tarin Jahan, Urmila Srabanti Kar, actors Azizul Hakim, Simon Sadiq, and Zayed Khan.
The case was sent to the capital's Bhatara Police Station for investigation.
Bhatara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Mazharul Islam confirmed the case to Khaborer Kagoj.
He said, the case has been filed in the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court. On the court's orders, it has been handed over to the Bhatara Police Station for investigation. Now, necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation.
In this case, the plaintiff alleged that the defendants provided financial and influential support to the government to suppress the student population during the mass student-led protests, which indirectly incited violence.
The case states that during a protest in the Bhatara police station area of Dhaka, the bullets fired by other accused hit the plaintiff Enamul Haque in the right leg, causing him to fall unconscious on the road.
