Nine more patients died across the country during the last 24 hours being infected with dengue while 1,042 people were hospitalised with this mosquito-borne disease during the period.
It was stated in a press release by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (October 5).
The press release mentioned that a total of 212 people died from the mosquito-borne disease so far this year. In the first five days of October, 2,565 people were hospitalized after being infected with dengue; and 14 people died.
The highest number of people were hospitalized with dengue in September this year. The number of deaths was also the highest in this month. In September, 15,866 patients were hospitalized and 76 people died.
