Prime Minister Tarique Rahman drove himself to attend a programme at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of Agargaon on Wednesday.

He left his office at the Secretariat around 7:30 pm and headed to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar to join the programme organised by the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association, said Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.

His wife Dr Zubaida Rahman accompanied him in the vehicle.

The Prime Minister attended the programme as the chief guest.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.

Besides, the neighbouring countries are likely to sign two more memorandums of understanding regarding cooperation in agricultural researches, and extension of the existing cultural exchange programme for two years, said the foreign minister.
