Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a seven-day programme from May 25 to June 1 to mark the martyrdom anniversary of the party's founder, martyred President Ziaur Rahman.
The programme was announced on Monday (May 18) morning at a press conference held at the party's central office at Nayapaltan in the capital by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi following a joint meeting of the party.
He said the party had taken up programmes from May 25 to June 1. "Eid-ul-Azha will falls within this seven-day period. Therefore, if anyone observes any of the programmes a day or two later, that will also be acceptable," he added.
As part of the schedule, the BNP will hold a discussion meeting at 2:00pm on May 31 at Ramna under the party's initiative.
Rizvi said the government has been fulfilling all the pre-election pledges after coming to power. The prime minister going to different districts of the country one after another to impelment different programmes. Following the path of his father, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been implementing the canal digging programme to make the country self-sufficient in food.
