Ten leaders and activists of the banned Awami League have been arrested during a flash procession at College Gate area in Mohammadpur of the capital.
Mohammadpur police arrested then on Sunday (June 21) morning.
Police said Awami League and its affiliate organization members brought out a sudden flash procession near Mohammadpur College Gate area in the morning. On-duty police personnel immediately chased the processionists and managed to arrest 10 of them on the spot.
According to police sources, those arrested are political activists and leaders from different levels across Mohammadpur, Adabor, and Dhaka district.
Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Tejgaon Division (DMP) Jewel Rana confirmed that the arrestees were brought to the police station for questioning.
