Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and his wife Rahat Ara will fly to Singapore on Monday for medical treatment.
Mirza Fakhrul will receive treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for various health issues, including a blockage in the nerve in his neck, according to source.
BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan told the media, I heard that he (Mirza Fakhrul) will go to abroad. But the details of when, which flight to go, these are still not confirmed.
Mirza Fakhrul was released last month after being arrested from his home on October 29 last year. According to sources close to the family, his physical complications have increased due to his long imprisonment.
Earlier, the 77-year-old BNP secretary general went to Singapore for a medical check-up on August 24 last year. His wife and daughter went with him at that time.
