Disrespecting Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman means denying the liberation war of Bangladesh, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, the declaration of independence in 1971 was made by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. There is nothing to debate about this. Those who are arguing about this are not the forces in favor of the liberation war.

Mirza Fakhrul made this remarks at a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of Independence Day and National Day at the Engineering Institute auditorium in the capital on Wednesday.

The BNP leader said, those who gave their lives in the liberation war, those who participated in the war - everyone's goal was democracy. This government has not done anything about democracy in 15 years, instead it has used elections to stay in power. Those who talk about democracy, have been jailed.

He said, the government has divided the country into two parts where one is the Awami League and the other is the opposition party.

"Houses, shops and businesses of opposition party leaders and activists are being taken over. No one other than Awami League is being appointed in any constitutional institution," he added.

Young people should wake up more strongly, Mirza Fakhrul said, our only goal is to wake up and organize the people. Through this, to ensure the downfall of the fascist government that we have been campaigning against for 15 years.
