BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that the ruling group Awami League has become overly reckless and violent after seizing power through the January 7 election.
He said the government is continuing to brutally repress the people of all pro-democratic opposition parties, including the BNP and its affiliates, to maintain the illegal state power through evil tactics.
Mirza Fakhrul made this comment in a statement expressing deep concern over the denial of bail and sent to jail of the joint secretary general of the party Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohail on Sunday (March 31).
BNP Secretary General said that independent country has been made a domain (zamindari) of Awami League by denying bail in false and fabricated cases and sending opposition leaders and workers to jail.
"BNP Joint Secretary General Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohail has denied bail and sent to jail is another manifestation of Awami oppression," he added.
He said fear and panic is being spread among the people from the city to the village to establish a authotarian and new BaKSAL regime in the country.
