BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the government should resign immediately on the issue of Myanmar.

He made this comment while interacting with reporters at his residence in Thakurgaon on Sunday (June 16) afternoon.

The BNP Secretary General said, as shelling is being done in St. Martin, Myanmar warships are also sighted there. This is a serious threat to Bangladesh's sovereignty. We feel this government is a weak government, it does not have the mandate of the people, it is a subservient government. This government is dependent on foreign power and so does not have the courage to speak up."

Regarding Eid, Mirzs Fakhrul said, there is no joy among the people this qurbani Eid. The condition of common people is very bad. Inflation has escalated so high that the common people cannot afford even the basic essentials. This is evident in the qurbani cattle markets. People can't afford to buy sacrificial animals because their financial situation is so bad.

He said this government looted all the resources of the country and smuggled it abroad. Banks have been looted. It has brought the economy to an extremely bad state.

District BNP general secretary Mirza Faisal Amin along with various leaders and workers of BNP and journalists were present at that time.
