For this reason, researchers have conducted experiments on skin conductance to understand a person's emotions. This test measures how well the skin can conduct electricity. It usually changes in response to sweat secretion and nerve activity, which reflects different mental states of a person.
For this, scientists conducted a study on 33 people. They were shown emotionally stimulating videos and at that time the electrical conductance on their skin was measured. The study observed different patterns for different emotions. Among them, the feeling of fear was found to last the longest. At the same time, the feeling of family bonding, mixed feelings of happiness and sadness were observed to be slow. On the other hand, the reaction was observed to fade quickly after watching funny videos.
