The “CyberSavvy” team of Mutual Trust Bank PLC achieved remarkable success in the “National FinCII Cyber Drill 2026,” organized by the BGD e-GOV CIRT under the Information and Communication Technology Division of the Government of Bangladesh. The competition brought together cybersecurity experts from leading banks and financial institutions across the country.
The highly competitive event assessed participants’ cybersecurity capabilities through the participation of various banks, financial institutions, and technology organizations. According to the final scoreboard published at the end of the day-long competition, the “CyberSavvy” team secured the first position with an impressive score of 5750.
The team’s relentless dedication, rapid problem-solving abilities, and strong teamwork played a key role in achieving this success. The competition included various cybersecurity challenges focused on cyberattack detection, incident response, digital forensics, and security analysis.
According to the final scoreboard, “DBBL Cyber Squad” from Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC secured the second position, while “CBBL Warrior” from Community Bank Bangladesh achieved third place.
This achievement by Mutual Trust Bank is being regarded as an important example of strengthening cybersecurity capabilities within the country’s banking sector. It also demonstrates that Bangladeshi institutions are steadily advancing toward international-standard cybersecurity excellence through skilled human resources, effective leadership, and continuous preparation.
The team was led by Md. Ashikur Rahman. Other team members included Md. Mushfiq Ul Anam, Md. Nahid Islam Chowdhury, Md. Shaheen Kadir, and Swarup Saha.
Expressing his feelings after securing first place, team leader Md. Ashikur Rahman said:
“Competing against the country’s top cybersecurity teams and securing first place is truly a matter of pride and joy. Our entire team achieved this success through sincerity, patience, and teamwork.”
