Production at the Sirajganj solar power plant ready to roll from June

A solar power plant with a capacity of 68 megawatts is being set up in Syedabad area on the west side of the Bangabandhu Bridge on the banks of the Jamuna in Sirajganj. Total 27 thousand pillars have been installed here on 214 acres of land. One and a half lakh powerful solar panels have been installed on these pillars. 75 percent of the Sirajganj solar power plant has already been completed.

The power plant is scheduled to go into production in June. Project stakeholders said that if everything goes well, 68 megawatts of electricity will be supplied to the national grid from this center in early June.

The project workers are working day and night for this.  Agriculture can be done on this land of fodder along with power generation.

The project is being implemented by Bangladesh-China Renewable Energy Company. The power plant is 50 percent owned by the state-owned company Northwest Power Generation Company of Bangladesh. The other half is owned by China's state-owned China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CMC).
