The admission test for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) courses in the country's public and private medical colleges for the 2025-26 academic year will be held on December 12.
The exam date was finalized at a meeting held at the Ministry of Health, Education and Family Welfare on Monday.
Professor Rubina Yasmin, Additional Director General (Medical Education) of the Directorate of Health Education, said that preparations for the admission test are already underway.
She cited the February 2026 parliamentary elections and the month of Ramadan as reasons for bringing forward the MBBS exam date.
Noting that, the MBBS admission test for the 2024-25 academic year was held on January 17 last year, compared to which this year's exam is being held more than a month earlier.
