Partially decomposed body of a woman has been recovered by police from a flat at Mirpur Section-6 in Pallabi in the capital.
It is being priliminary assumed that Selina Afroze, 55, died several days ago. Her husband and two children live in Canada.
Pallabi Police Station's Inspector (Investigation) Md Hanif confirmed the matter on Thursday morning.
He said: "We recovered her body from House No. 14, Road No. 10, Block-C, Section-6 under Pallabi Police Station in the capital on Wednesday (June 3). Her body got partially decomposed. Later, her body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College Hospital morgute for postmortem."
He also said her husband Mominul Huque and two sons live in Canada for a long time. As there had been a family dispute, late Selina Afroze came back to the country from Canada 12 years ago and had been living in her father's flat alone.
Police and family sources said she had been living alone in the flat which she had inherited from her father. Her another sister lives in a flat on the 3rd floor. Late Selina Afroze talked to her nephew Ashfaqur Rahman for last time at 11:00pm on May 26. Since then she had not communicated with anyone.
It may be recalled that the decomposed body of another woman was recovered at a flat at Road No. 13 under Section-6, Pallabi recently. Among her four children, the first one is a joint secretary, the second one is a teacher of BUET and the third one lives in Canada, while the fourth one is a school teacher. The mother used to live in the flat owned by school teacher.
