The biopic "Mujib: The Making of a Nation," portraying the life of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will hit theatres across the country on October 13.
Information and Broadcasting Minister and ruling Awami League (AL) joint general secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud at a function of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on October 1 released the official trailer and unveiled the poster of the film along with declaring the date of releasing the movie on October 13.
"We are so happy today that we are going to release the movie ‘Mujib- The Making of a Nation’ after four years of journey. In Sha Allah, this film is going to be released all over Bangladesh on October 13,” said Dr Hasan.
Secretary of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry Md Humayun Kabir Khandaker, Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Dr Abdul Malek, BFDC Managing Director Nuzhat Yasmin and Biopic Line Director Satish Sharma spoke, among others, on the occasion.
Trailer of the biopic and video messages of film director Shyam Benegal and Arifin Shuvoo, who played the role of Bangabandhu in the biopic, were screened at the event attended by celebrated personalities of the film industry.
Dr Hasan said that he watched this film three or four times and it was first screened publicly at the Toronto Film Festival, where apart from Bangalees, citizens of different countries were present.
Dr Hasan thanked biopic director Shyam Benegal and everyone associated with the production of the film and said, "Prime Minister's advisor Dr Gowher Rizvi was involved in the production process of this film. I thank everyone, including Sajjad Zahir and many others from Bangladesh, who were involved in making this biopic. All the artistes have done amazing performances. All of them played their roles appropriately".
Among the over hundred Bangladeshi artistes, who acted in the film produced by Bangladesh and India jointly, Chanchal Chowdhury, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Sangeeta Chowdhury, Dibya Jyoti, Samu Chowdhury, Ashiul Islam, Nairuj Sifat, Abul Kalam Azad Miah and Tushar Khan were present at the function.
