Seventeen more people have succumbed to dengue in the last 24 hours till Monday morning, bringing the death toll to 1,272 this year.
During the period, 2,014 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country," the DGHS daily statement added.
mong the new patients, 454 admitted to the hospital in the capital and 1,560 are outside it.
It said some 10,170 people diagnosed with the fever are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals across the country.
According to the statement, from January 1 to October 23 this year, a total of 2,57,060 people have been affected by dengue across the country. Some 2,48,199 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
