One more Covid-19 patient died in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, bringing the total number of deaths from the viral disease to 23 since January.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the latest victim was a man aged between 61 and 70. He passed away while receiving treatment at a government hospital in the Dhaka Division.
The statement also stated that six new cases were identified from 239 samples tested during this period, yielding a positivity rate of 2.51 percent.
The cumulative death toll since the pandemic began in 2020 stands at 29,523.
The first case of Coronavirus was detected in the country on March 8, 2020. Ten days later, on March 18 of the same year, the first person died from the virus in the country.
