Cat Eyes
Swooping cat eyes are a staple this season, be it long, sharp and bold or just a hint of a feline flick this captivating trend is a big hit. The ever-popular smokey eye is also taken to new heights for fall, either in gray, brown, black or even plum, you can’t go wrong with smoldering eyes. Liquid eyeliner is also on trend, so use it to create bold, graphic lines and designs for an edgy look, or channel a preppy, posh girl look with Twiggy lashes paired with a bold red lip. Bold blue eyes is another way to go, with the blue palette achieving a truly ethereal look.
Say hi to bright hues
Dark lips are a must this season and while a red lip may not sound groundbreaking, this season’s shades are getting us excited about this makeup bag staple again; from varying degrees of deep red and brick to burgundy, plum and even black.
Spider lashes
Clumpy or spidery Twiggy-style lashes are batting back into view. They add instant impact to any eye look and underscore the power of waving your wand. It’s been a while since mascara has been anything other than the support act for eye shadows and bold brows with some makeup artists skipping it altogether but expect to see that change. Exaggerated black lashes are back.
Subtle shimmers
Incorporate some shimmer to your day-to-day makeup routine doesn’t have to consist of covering up your eyelids with a pot of glitter. Add a touch of shine by dazzling up the inner corners of eyes. For those who are looking for a subtler glittery look, use a touch of shimmery eyeshadow.
No heavy bronzers or blushes, no in your face smoky eyes!
Aura nails
Aura nails are a new nail art trend that kind of resemble aura photos. There’s usually a mix of colors involved to showcase your aura, and the various colors are painted on in a circular ombré or gradient design. The duo-color trend make its way into nails as well as eye makeup looks. The technique is surprisingly simple: use a darker shimmer shade all over the lid to the crease, creating a shape out towards the temples and on and lower lash line, then apply a coordinated brighter shimmer shade on the center of the lid to create the halo effect.
