A patrol team of Bangladesh Army has arrested a top terror from Sathbaria under Chandanish upazila here this morning.

The arrestee was identified as Jubayer Arefin, 28, son of Mohammad Jafar.

Acting on a tip-off at his village home at Nazirhat Nagarpara of No-9 Satbaria union under Chandanish upazila at the early hours today, a army team arrested Jafar.

Chandanish Army Camp Commander Ibtesam Jawad led the drive.
 
During the drive, the army recovered local arms, two Ramda, one knife, three mobile set and Taka 1, 231 cash from his possession.

Later, Jafar was handed over to police, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandanish Police Station M Nuruzzaman.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.

Besides, the neighbouring countries are likely to sign two more memorandums of understanding regarding cooperation in agricultural researches, and extension of the existing cultural exchange programme for two years, said the foreign minister.
