Nine more children died with measles and measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new deaths, three were confirmed as measles-related, while the remaining six were classified as suspected.
With this, the total number of confirmed deaths from measles has risen to 61 and suspected deaths to 291 since March 15.
During the same period, 946 new suspected measles cases were recorded. Of these, 489 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
According to the DGHS data, since 15 March, a total of 47,656 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide. Of these, 6,979 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
Since March 15, a total of 33,631 suspected measles patients have been hospitalised, of whom 29,746 have recovered.
