An arrest warrant has been issued against Nurul Haque Nur, the president of Gono Odhikar Parishad and former vice president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) in the Digital Security Act case in Chittagong.

Chittagong Divisional Cyber Tribunal Judge Zahirul Kabir gave this order after the hearing on Monday.

A former Chhatra League activist filed the case against Nurul Haque Nur under the Digital Security Act for allegedly 'insulting' Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, Chhatra League and Jubo League.

According to court sources, on June 14, 2022, Shahriar Yasir Arafat, the former legal secretary of Chhatra League Chittagong University branch, filed a case against Nurul Haque under the Digital Security Act.

It is said in the case complaint that on June 1, 2022, Nurul Haque made 'insults' to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Education Minister, Chhatra League and Jubo League from a page named Bangla News BD and posted it on Facebook. Later it spread to the outside world including Bangladesh through social media.
