National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam on Tuesday said they will build a discrimination-free, justice-based Bangladesh where there will be no room for extortion, rape, and looting.
“We removed the autocratic Sheikh Hasina’s regime and there will be no room for new dictatorship in this Bengal soil,” he told a street rally at the end of the July March programme of NCP at Press Club premises in the town.
Nahid said Bhola is the town of gas and this gas goes to different districts of the country but the people of Bhola have been deprived of gas. “This is a discrimination against the people of Bhola,” he said.
Referring to the 57 martyrs of Bhola, in the July Mass Uprising, Nahid said the highest number of martyrs in the July Uprising was in Bhola.
“So today we have come to embrace the people of Bhola. There will be no more discrimination against the people of Bhola. The NCP will be by your side,” he said.
Nahid said the standard of healthcare in Bhola is so bad as well as communication system is also backward. He pledged that Bhola will be a beautiful and prosperous district.
