At least 10 people were burned in an AC (air conditioner) explosion at a salon at Alu Bazar in Bangshal, in Old Dhaka. 

The injured were rescued and admitted to the emergency department of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 1:30am on Tuesday.

The specific cause of the AC explosion is not yet known

According to hospital sources, the names of the 10 people undergoing treatment and the extent of their burn injuries are listed below:Md. Faruk (35, Customer): 50% of the body burned.Md. Rinku (30, Customer): 21% of the body burned.Raju (34, Salon Employee): 18% of the body burned.Pappu (26, Salon Employee): 18% of the body burned.Shamshed (30, Salon Employee): 15% of the body burned.Arman (37, Salon Employee): 15% of the body burned.Md. Rafiq (25, Customer): 12% of the body burned.Rony (36, Customer): 10% of the body burned.Jasim (40, Customer): 8% of the body burned.Shakib (17, Salon Employee): 1% of the body burned.Among the injured, customer Md. Faruk is in the most critical condition (50% burn). A detailed investigation regarding the exact cause of the explosion and the extent of the damages is currently underway.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.

Besides, the neighbouring countries are likely to sign two more memorandums of understanding regarding cooperation in agricultural researches, and extension of the existing cultural exchange programme for two years, said the foreign minister.
