Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has pledged to make 11-Party Alliance member of parliament candidate and NCP convener Nahid Islam, say the party sources.
He made the announcement while speaking at an election meeting of the 11-party candidate Nahid Islam for Dhaka-11 constituency at Badda in the capital on Sunday (February 8).
He said: "My youth friends, you take preparation for taking responsibilty. We nominated Nahid Islam as a candidate here. Nahid Islam will work as minister if a government of justice come through the votes. We will work together. Nahids will become captains for the next Bangladesh, and we will remain as passengers siting on the rear seats."
Jamaat Ameer said none will be able to stop the development of Bangladesh. "People of thise country are intelligent and industrious. There was lack of honesty in politics of the past. There was no accountability to remain corrupt-free. Because of it, the country could not move forward. Youth will save our hopes and aspiration.
Dr Shafiqur Rhaman said the entire country has awaken again. "We're pledgebound to our country. We will become the protectors of people's lives and property. We will not become the owner of the country, rather we'll be at the service of people.
Jamaat Ameer concluded: "Let's go for establishing a corruption-free, extortion-free, and a humane Bangladesh. Pray to almighty Allah so that he gives us affordability.
