Bangladesh started the batting well after winning the toss against Zimbabwe at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today, But the host lost Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Sadman Islam in the space of two overs.
The opening partnership was 31 runs. That partnership was broken when Victor Nyauchi drove a ball outside the off stump and was caught by Sadman Islam in the gully. He returned with 12 runs.
Bangladesh won three tests of its 10 last year, all of which came abroad.
Zimbabwe have not won a test anywhere since March 2021. It lost its last test, a one-off against Ireland in February, by 63 runs in Bulawayo.
