Entertainment journalists have banned Joy Chowdhury, organizing secretary of Bangladesh Film Artists Association, for life in connection with the attack on journalists during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected committee of Bangladesh Film Artists Association at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation's (BFDC) premises. Journalists also warned Bangladesh Film Artists Association of lifetime ban if they work with Joy Chowdhury.

A committee of 11 members was formed to investigate the incident that took place in FDC last Tuesday. The committee consists of five members each from artists' association and journalists. Producer Arshad Adnan was the adviser of the committee.

Journalist Limon Ahmed informed the oral decisions in the meeting of the investigation committee and said, "Even after starting the discussion, Joy Chowdhury was behaving arrogantly. He refuses to listen to anyone. So the media has decided to boycott him for lifetime. Even if he is kept in any of the activities of the Artists Association, the association will be boycotted. If a producer or director makes a movie with him, the journalists will not publish the news of that movie."

Apart from this, entertainment journalists have decided to celebrate the day of this shameful incident on April 23 as 'Black Day' every year.

In the meeting, Film Artists Association promised to bear the medical expenses of the injured journalists and to compensate the damaged machanical parts by April 30.

Antagonist actors Siva Shanu and Sushant were expelled from the association temporarily (for one month). Limon Ahmed, Rahat Saiful, Ahmed Taukir, Bulbul Ahmed Joy, Masum Joy and Misha Saudagar, Nana Shah, Rubel etc. from the artists association were in the investigation committee on behalf of journalists.

The incident occurred after an event arranged by the newly elected Misha-Dipjol committee on Tuesday afternoon. The incident left ten individuals, including journalists and cameramen, injured as a result of a gruesome altercation.
