11 more children die from measles, measles-like symptoms

Eleven more children died with measles and measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the new deaths, four were confirmed as measles-related, while the remaining seven were classified as suspected.

With this, the total number of confirmed deaths from measles has risen to 65 and suspected deaths to 344 since March 15.

During the same period, 1,503 new patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals. Of these, 205 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.

According to the DGHS data, since 15 March, a total of 49,159 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide. Of these, 6,819 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
