Eight more children died with measles and measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new deaths, one was confirmed as measles-related, while the remaining seven were classified as suspected.
With this, the total number of confirmed deaths from measles has risen to 69, and suspected deaths to 363, bringing the total to 432 since March 15.
During the same period, 1,489 new suspected measles cases were recorded. Of these, 126 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
According to the DGHS data, since 15 March, a total of 53, 056 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide. Of these, 7,150 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
