Health Minister Sarder Sakhawat Hossain said on Wednesday (June 10) that the government was not satisfied over the reply of the Ad-Din Medical College Hospital authorities to showcause given by the hospital authorities over the death of six infants at post-operative ward of the hospital.
He stated it while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in the capital on Wednesday (June 10).
The Health Minister observed that there were much discrepancies in the explanation given by the hospital authorities in reply to the showcause notice served by the Department of Health.
"Necessary decision will be taken as quickly as possible over the explanation of the hospital authorities in response to the showcause notice," he said.
Earlier, Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain said a government investigation found "gross negligence" and "chain of failures" by Ad-din Medical College Hospital in Maghbazar, Dhaka, which led to the suffocation and deaths of six newborns on May 27, 2026.
