Former mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Dr Selina Hayat Ivy has been sent to jail after ending her two days on police remand in a murder case.
Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Shahidul Islam Chowdhury issued the order today after police produced Ivy in court after a two-day remand in connection with the murder of garment worker Minarul Islam.
The court after hearing both sides, ordered to send her to Kashimpur High Security Jail, rejecting her bail prayer.
Selina Hayat Ivy was arrested by police from his Deobhog residence on May 9, alleging her involvement in the killing of garment worker Minarul. The court on that day ordered her to be sent to Kashimpur jail.
Ivy has been accused in six cases, including murder and the Explosive Substances Act, of which she has been shown arrested in four cases so far.
