Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani reached Prime Minister’s office (PMO) to hold bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

On his arrival at the PMO, Sheikh Hasina welcomed the Amir at the Tiger Gate with flower bouquet.

They will also have a Tête-à-tête (one-to-one meeting).

Later, they will witnessed agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signing between the two countries.

Before departing from the PMO, the Amir will also sign the Visitor’s Book at the Tiger Gate.

Then, he will go to the Bangabhaban as President Mohammed Shahabuddin will host a courtesy lunch in honour of the Amir of the State of Qatar.

The Amir is scheduled to fly for Qatar by a special aircraft this evening.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.

Besides, the neighbouring countries are likely to sign two more memorandums of understanding regarding cooperation in agricultural researches, and extension of the existing cultural exchange programme for two years, said the foreign minister.
