Two people were killed and five others injured in a collision on the Dhaka-Barishal highway at Kashipur in Barishal city on Sunday. 

A bus collided with a stationary truck carrying gas cylinders, resulting in the fatal accident, reported UNB.

One of the deceased has been identified as Sohagh, 25, while the identity of the other victim remains unknown.

The crash occurred in front of the BRAC office when the Barishal-bound 'Bapari Paribahan' bus from Dhaka struck the truck on its way to Nathullabad Terminal. 

The impact left two people dead on the spot and three others injured, said Lokman Hossain, inspector of Barishal Metropolitan Police.

Following the collision, the truck plunged into a roadside pond. The injured were promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.

Besides, the neighbouring countries are likely to sign two more memorandums of understanding regarding cooperation in agricultural researches, and extension of the existing cultural exchange programme for two years, said the foreign minister.
