BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has requested journalists not to address him "honourable" before his name.
He made the request while speaking at an opinion sharing meeting at Hotel Sheraton in the capital on Saturday (January 10).
When a journalist leader of Dhaka addressed Tarique Rahman with "honourable" before his name, the BNP Chairman said: "Please, don't address me 'honourable' before my name."
He further said though he had been not in the country for a long time, his heart and mind had always been with the country.
Tarique Rahman said the country's people had witnessed the consequences of politics of vengeance on August 5. If there are differences of opinion, it must be addressed through talks. Differences of opinion should not turn into conflict of opinion.
The meeting was orgamised to hold an opinion sharing meeting with senior journalists and editors. Appearing at the programme, Tarique Rahman exchanges greetings with editors and journalists. At that time, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was with him.
