Awami League advisory council member valiant freedom fighter AKM Rahmatullah is no more.
The member of parliament (MP) died at about 3:45who had been under treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka for a long time.
One Mizanur Rahman, from Square Hospital customer services, said AKM Rahmatullah died early Wednesday (June 3) and members of his family took his body from the hospital in the morning.
AKM Rahmatullah's nephew Faruque Hossain said, "He died at 3:45am today (Wednesday). Receiving information, his body has been brought at his residence at Beraid in Badda."
He said the body of Rahmatullah will be buried at 4:00pm on Wedsnesday (June 3) at Beraid Graveyard after namaj-e-janaza at Beraid ground.
Former member of parliament was the president of Dhaka City North Awami League.
Rahmatullah was elected as the first member of parliament from Dhaka-10 constituency on the Awami League's nomination in the 9th parliamentary election of 2008. On 10 April 2016, he was elected as the president of Dhaka North Awami League. Later, he was elected unopposed as a member of parliament from Dhaka-11 constituency in the 10th parliamentary election of 2014. In the 11th parliamentary election of 2018, he was nominated as an Awami League candidate from Dhaka-11 constituency.
