Two people have died and five others injured in a road accident in Paba upazila of Rajshahi.

The accident happened around in the Notun Kasba area of the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway when a Dhaka-bound Desh Travels bus ran over a battery-powered auto-rickshaw and fled the scene around 6:00 pm on Monday, Damkura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rabiul Islam, reported UNB.

The deceased were identified as Md. Ibrahim (27), son of Takibul Islam from Faradpur village in Godagari upazila, and Md. Maruf (25), son of Rahim Munshi from Matikata village of the same upazila.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared the two dead.

The bus, coming from Chapainawabganj, hit the auto-rickshaw and drove away. Seven passengers sustained severe injuries, and two were later declared dead at the hospital," the OC said.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.
