Three people have died and another was injured when a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Kaliakoir-Phulbaria road at Namashulai in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur district on Saturday.

One of the deceased was identified as Obaidul while the identities of two others could not be known yet.

Confirming the incident, Kamrul Hasan, Sub-Inspector of Kaliakoir Police Station said police went to the spot upon receiving information. The accident occurred around 8 am when the truck crashed into the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving three people dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured were taken to Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.

Besides, the neighbouring countries are likely to sign two more memorandums of understanding regarding cooperation in agricultural researches, and extension of the existing cultural exchange programme for two years, said the foreign minister.
