Leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami party are gathering at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital to join a rally. Many people from different districts have been staying there since Friday night.
As the day progressed on Saturday (July 19), leaders and activists started arriving. Hundreds of buses were seen parked on the roads around Suhrawardy Udyan in the morning. Jamaat leaders and activists came from different parts of the country to join the rally in buses and trains.
Many of the leaders and activists are wearing T-shirts with the Jamaat logo. Some have party ribbons tied around their heads. Many have brought weighing scales (party symbol).
Jamaat has made extensive preparations to make the rally a success. The party leaders are expecting about one million leaders and workers from all over the country to attend the rally.
The main event will start at 2 pm, Islamic music performances will begin at 10 am on the rally stage.
