An unidentified van driver has been killed when a CNG-run autorickshaw and a leguna collided head-on at Demra Staff Quarters area.
The accident happened at about 10:00pm on Saturday. Critically injured man was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at about 11:30pm where doctors on duty declared him dead.
One Rabiul Islam, who brought the injured person at the hospital following the accident, said a CNG and a leguna collided on the Demra Staff Quarters Bridge at 10:00pm on Saturday. At that time, a van driver was seriously injured. Then he was rescued and taken to the emergency department of the DMCH. Following examination, the on-duty doctors pronounced him dead at about 11:30pm. The name and the address of the cvould not be known so far.
DMCH police camp in-charge Md Faruk said the body of the deceased has been kept at the emergency department's morgue at the hospital. The Demra police has already been informed about the accident.
