Seven more children died with measles and measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new deaths, three were confirmed as measles-related, while the remaining four were classified as suspected.
With this, the total number of confirmed deaths from measles has risen to 83, and suspected deaths to 405, bringing the total number of deaths to 488 since March 15.
The report shows that during the same period, 1423 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals nationwide. Of these, 208 cases were lab-confirmed as measles.
Since 15 March, the total number of people showing measles-like symptoms has reached 59,279. Of these, 7,767 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
Since March 15, a total of 46,407 suspected measles patients have been hospitalised, of whom 42,336 have recovered.
