Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has extended the operational time of MRT-6 for 20 minutes at night, effective from tomorrow, Sunday.
“As per passengers’ demand, which is growing fast centering the MRT Line-6, the DMTCL extended night-time services in both directions,” said Metro Rail Public Relations Officer Mohammad Ahsan Ullah Sharifi.
He said that under the revised timetable, an additional trip will be introduced on the MRT from both ends.
The last train from Uttara North station to Motijheel will depart at 9:50 pm, while the final train from Motijheel to Uttara North will leave at 10:30 pm.
At present, the last train departs at 9:30 pm from Uttara North and 10:10 pm from Motijheel end.
The country’s first metro rail began operations on December 28, 2022, on the Uttara North-Agargaon section.
The service was gradually expanded, and full operations on the Uttara-Motijheel route started on December 31, 2023.
Construction work of Kamalapur station is still ongoing, which will complete the MRT Line-6 corridor.
