Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has offered munajat at the graves of his parents Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Zia Udyan, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.

On the occasion, Tarique Rahman stood before the graves, recited Surah Al-Fatiha, and offered munajat there seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of his parents.

PM's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. A.K.M. Shamsul Islam, Jatiya Sangsad Whip Miah Nuruddin Ahmad Apu, PM's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman, Private Secretary-2 Md Mehedul Islam, Assistant Private Secretary-2 Abdur Rahman Suny and officials from the Prime Minister's Office were present.

Later, the prime minister joined the ongoing parliament session.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman returned home last night after wrapping up his maiden six-day official visit to Malaysia and China.

"An MoU will be signed between the National Payments Corporation of India and the Bangladesh Bank to make transactions in rupees and taka between Bangladesh and India easier," said the foreign minister in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday.

Besides, the neighbouring countries are likely to sign two more memorandums of understanding regarding cooperation in agricultural researches, and extension of the existing cultural exchange programme for two years, said the foreign minister.
